Press Release: Bakchis Finishes 10th Overall in 2013 Formula Drift Championship
For immediate release (Ontario, CA) – The 2013 Formula Drift series came to a close at Irwindale Speedway in California on October 12, 2013. A successful final event for Aurimas “Odi” Bakchis placed him tenth overall for the season championship points, further establishing his drift program as a strong contender in the leading drift series.
Bakchis qualified ninth in Irwindale, setting him up for successful tandem competition later in the event. Paired with Dave Briggs during the Top 32 bracket, Bakchis advanced to the Top 16 main event. Bakchis competed against Chris Forsberg during the Top 16 bracket, which was deemed a “one-more-time”. Forsberg then advanced and Bakchis finished twelfth in the event.
Repeated high qualifying scores, a fourth place finish in Seattle, and six finishes within the Top 16 throughout the season set Bakchis within the Top 10 ranked drivers for the 2013 season. Finishing his third season in Formula Drift, Bakchis has demonstrated a persistent presence in the top ranked drivers of the series and looks forward to continued action in 2014.

Press Release: High Standings for Bakchis as Final 2013 Drift Event Approaches
For immediate release (Rancho Cucamonga, CA) - Over a largely dramatic event for many teams, Formula Drift Round 6 wrapped up in Fort Worth, Texas on September 13 and 14, 2013. Southern California driver Aurimas Bakchis "Odi" displayed his known consistency, placing him ninth overall in the series championship points following the event.
Bakchis qualified fifth on Friday and entered the Top 32 bracket for Saturday's main event in his Nexen Tire Nissan 240 SX. Paired with Robbie Nishida for Top 32, Bakchis led a textbook first run that left no clear advantage to either driver. During his follow run, both drivers exceeded the course boundary. Nishida was awarded the win with the thought that Bakchis received a zero for having two wheels off course while Nishida had only one wheel off course.
Bakchis Motorsports protested the call as neither driver was deemed responsible for one infraction (hitting a course marker). Upon closer inspection, the judges determined that a course marker was indeed hit and that both drivers received a zero for the run. A one-more-time ruling was decided and, due to event timing, Bakchis and Nishida repeated their Top 32 battle following the Top 16 opening ceremonies.
Bakchis did not advance to Top 16; however, his high qualifying score and Top 32 finish places him in ninth place for overall championship points. The Formula Drift season concludes in October 2013 in Irwindale, California. The finish at Round 6 in Texas solidifies a strong position in the championship for Bakchis.
Bakchis has thanked his sponsors including Nexen Tire, United States Air Force, Feal Suspension, Torco Advanced Lubricants, 702 Graphics.com, Clutch Masters, Dstroyr, EBC Brakes, Battle Version, CBM, Holley EFI, Nitrous Express, Sikky Manufacturing, Top-Line Industrial Products, XXR Wheels, Weir Performance, Mishimoto, and Grip Royal. Feal Suspension driver Aurimas "Odi" Bakchis wins round 4 of the Eastern European Drift Championship
For immediate release (Klaipeda, Lithuania) – While visiting his home country of Lithuania, American Formula Drift driver Aurimas “Odi” Bakchis participated in the Eastern European Drift Championship (EEDC) on June 29th, 2013. After events in neighboring countries, the fourth round of EEDC was conducted at the “Nemuno Ziedas” track in Bakchis’ hometown of Kaunas, Lithuania. Bakchis moved to the United States when he was eight years old and has not visited Lithuania for six years prior to the event.
After several days of preparation, Bakchis competed in the EEDC event with a borrowed Lexus SC 300 powered by a Toyota 2JZ engine and Nexen tires. Bakchis stated that the track was the fastest he has competed on and “is the only track where I initiate in fourth gear and finish in fourth gear without down shifting.” With initiation speeds of approximately 180 kph (112 mph) and limited practice, Bakchis qualified tenth in the Nexen Tire SC 300. After tandem rounds with competitors including Hypki (Poland) and Bluss (Latvia), Bakchis won the event following a one-more-time for first place.
Bakchis’ win was the first for a Lithuanian in the EEDC championship. He stated “I had a very warm welcome and lots of support from the Lithuanian crowd, which was encouraging and motivating to perform well”. Bakchis’ next drift event is the fifth round of Formula Drift in Monroe, Washington on July 19th and 20th, 2013.

As series standings were shuffled for many drivers, consistent performance by Aurimas “Odi” Bakchis established him as a Top 10 driver after the event.
Bakchis qualified 20th in his Nexen Tire Nissan 240SX and was paired with United States Air Force teammate Ryan Tuerck for the Top 32 tandem round. Bakchis exhibited a confident follow run and advanced to the Top 16 round after Tuerck’s car suffered a broken axle while following. Bakchis finished the event in the Top 16 round after being paired with Chris Forsberg. After an exciting and dramatic main event, Bakchis’ standing in the series continued to rise; placing him tenth overall in the championship points standings.

Press Release: Bakchis Begins 2013 Drift Season with Good Standings
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, Rancho Cucamonga, CA – Formula Drift USA entered its tenth season on April 12-13 at the Streets of Long Beach course in southern California. Aurimas “Odi” Bakchis, 2011 Rookie-of-the-Year, debuted his LS3-powered Nexen Tire 240SX at the event with a strong showing.
After several off-season changes including a new motor and enhanced vehicle set-up, Bakchis was one of the first drivers to qualify at the event under the new “knock-out” qualifying format. Qualifying 12th, Bakchis was paired with Nexen Tire teammate Joon Maeng for the Top 32 tandem competition and then advanced to the Top 16 main event.
Driving for a sold-out crowd, Bakchis was paired with Kenneth Moen for the Top 16 competition. Moen’s rear bumper dragged behind the car and, as the following driver, Bakchis was forced to avoid the bumper that eventually detached and hit Bakchis’ vehicle. Bakchis then completed his lead run and ultimately finished the event in good standings as 12th overall in the series.
As 12th overall after the first event, Bakchis has shown that he and his team will be a strong contender in the 2013 drift season. Upcoming events for Bakchis include participation in the inaugural Motegi Racing Super Drift Challenge during the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach on April 19-20 and Formula Drift Round 2 at Road Atlanta in Georgia on May 10-11.
Bakchis has thanked his sponsors for the strong season start including Nexen Tire, United States Air Force, Feal Suspension, Torco Advanced Lubricants, 702 Graphics.com, Clutch Masters, Dstroyr, EBC Brakes, Battle Version, CBM, Holley EFI, Nitrous Express, Sikky Manufacturing, Top-Line Industrial Products, XXR Wheels, and Mishimoto. Press Release: Bakchis is Number One Qualifier at Formula Drift Round 4
For immediate release (Rancho Cucamonga, CA) - Formula Drift Round 4 returned to Wall Stadium in New Jersey on June 22 and 23, 2012. Aurimas Bakchis (Odi) made a strong impression as he competed at the track for the second time of his drifting career, placing him in sixth for overall series championship points.
Heavy rain interrupted the qualifying session on Friday and resulted in a slower first qualifying run for Bakchis; however, the rain cleared prior to his impressive second run in the M7 Japan/Nexen Tire Nissan 240SX. Bakchis drove a high, tight line and scored a 97, which set Bakchis as the number one qualifier for the event.
Bakchis' Top 32 tandem competition was with rookie Nick DAlessio, and Bakchis advanced to Top 16 to be paired with Daigo Saito for the second time this season. After an exceptional lead run, a transmission mis-shift resulted in dispersion for Bakchis as he followed Saito. Saito advanced in competition, and Bakchis finished the event with Top 16 standings. Bakchis exhibited consistent driving throughout the event, and the top qualifying position and Top 16 finish placed him in sixth for overall series championship points.
The Bakchis Motorsports team has achieved the current strong points standing with the support of M7 Japan, Nexen Tire, M7 Drive Energy Drink, Feal Suspension, 702 Graphics, Torco, Clutch Masters, Mishimoto, Top Line Industrial, AIT Racing, Dstroyr, Sikky Manufacturing, Battle Version, XXR Wheels, and CBM Motorsports.
